The Steam Summer Sale 2026 runs through July 9, and between the AAA open-world crowd , indie roguelite fans , racing and driving players , FPS fans , and RPG and strategy players already covered, one angle on this sale we haven't touched yet is games built around playing with other people. With two days left before the sale ends, here are eight of the best co-op and multiplayer deals still standing — a $2.99 Far Cry 4, an all-time-low Deep Rock Galactic, and a couple of picks that are just as good solo if your squad bails.
Prices below are in USD, pulled from current Steam store listings as of July 7, 2026. Sale pricing is locked in for the full two-week event, so there's no need to rush before a timer runs out — but it's still worth double-checking the store page for the exact current price before buying.
Survival and building co-op
| Game | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| $9.99 (was $19.99, 50% off) | Steam Deck Verified. Up to 10-player Viking survival and base-building; still one of the best hours-per-dollar picks in the whole sale. | |
| $8.99 (was $29.99, 70% off) | Steam Deck Verified. 1-4 player co-op mining FPS with destructible caves and six seasons of free content — no battle pass, no FOMO shop. | |
| $15.74 (was $34.99, 55% off) | Steam Deck Verified as of its 1.0 release, with official controller support and a reworked HUD for handheld play. Up to 4-player vampire survival. | |
| $7.49 (was $24.99, 70% off) | Steam Deck Playable. An all-time-low price on this fantasy farming sim, which supports up to 8 players in one world. |
Story-driven co-op campaigns
| Game | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| $12.00 (was $39.99, 70% off) | Steam Deck Verified, and no longer requires the EA App launcher on Steam. Strictly 2-player, and one of the best-reviewed co-op campaigns ever made. | |
| $2.99 (was $29.99, 90% off) | Steam Deck Playable, not Verified — community reports say to force standard Proton 9.0 in compatibility settings rather than Proton Experimental to avoid a stuck loading screen. Full campaign co-op for 2 players. |
Roguelike and horror co-op
| Game | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| $8.24 (was $24.99, 67% off) | Steam Deck Verified. Up to 4-player roguelike shooter with escalating chaos the longer a run goes — one of the better pick-up-and-play options here for shorter handheld sessions. | |
| $13.99 (was $19.99, 30% off) | Officially Unsupported on Steam Deck per Valve's own testing, though the community reports it's playable with workarounds — mainly manually invoking the on-screen keyboard for text entry. Up to 4-player ghost-hunting horror. |
A note on Steam Deck and Steam Machine
Valheim, Deep Rock Galactic, V Rising, It Takes Two, and Risk of Rain 2 are all Verified, making them the safest picks if you're playing on the go. Sun Haven and Far Cry 4 are Playable but need a little more patience — Far Cry 4 specifically benefits from locking in standard Proton 9.0 rather than Proton Experimental. Phasmophobia is the outlier: Valve rates it Unsupported, though it's more of a UI inconvenience than a dealbreaker.
If you're running these on a Steam Machine instead, the survival and roguelike picks — Valheim, Deep Rock Galactic, Risk of Rain 2 especially — lean on CPU work once a world fills up with enemies or bases, which lines up with what our benchmarks of the console's single-channel RAM configuration found costs real frames in CPU-heavy titles. For the more GPU-bound picks on that hardware, it's worth turning on FSR 4, which recently landed on Proton Experimental and already works on the Steam Machine's RDNA 3 GPU.
Sale pricing holds until July 9 — after that, don't expect cuts this deep on Deep Rock Galactic or Far Cry 4 again until the next seasonal event. For other angles on the same sale, we've also rounded up the best big-budget deals , the best indie discounts , the best racing and driving deals , the best FPS and shooter deals , and the best RPG and strategy deals .
