The Steam Summer Sale 2026 runs through July 9, and while the AAA headliners get most of the attention, the indie side of the sale is where some of the steepest cuts and genuine all-time lows are sitting right now. A few of the games below have never been this cheap on Steam, including one that only just got its first discount ever.
Prices below are in USD, pulled from current Steam store listings as of July 2, 2026. Sale pricing is locked in for the two-week event, so unlike a flash sale there's no need to rush a purchase before a timer runs out — but it's still worth checking the store page for the exact current price before buying.
Roguelites and boss-rush picks
| Game | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| $20.99 (was $29.99, 30% off) | All-time lowest price since its 1.0 release. Sorcery-based combat as Melinoë, hundreds of hours of roguelite replayability. | |
| $7.49 (was $29.99, 75% off) | All-time low. Gothic Metroidvania with soulslike combat; the franchise bundle with the original is $8.98. | |
| $12.49 (was $24.99, 50% off) | Ties its lowest recorded Steam price. Fast, co-op-friendly roguelite FPS with a Borderlands-ish art style. |
Life sim and management picks
| Game | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| $8.99 (was $14.99, 40% off) | Deeper cut than the recent Spring Sale. Steam Deck Verified and a reliable pick for handheld sessions. | |
| $9.99 (was $19.99, 50% off) | All-time low. Underwater exploration by day, sushi restaurant management by night; the "In the Jungle" DLC (June 2026) adds roughly 10 more hours. |
Strategy and deckbuilder picks
| Game | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| $22.49 (was $29.99, 25% off) | First discount since its February 2026 launch. Turn-based tactical roguelike from the creator of The Binding of Isaac, built around breeding mutant cats. | |
| $14.99 (was $19.99, 25% off) | Matches its all-time low. A deckbuilder with a persistent campaign instead of disposable roguelite runs — closer to a souls-like in tone. |
Worth noting: a first-ever discount
MIO: Memories in Orbit hasn't been discounted since it launched in January 2026 — this sale marks its first price cut, down to $14.99 from $19.99 (25% off). It's a hand-drawn sci-fi Metroidvania with fluid aerial combat and a watercolor, graphic-novel art style that stands out even in a genre full of strong-looking games. Worth a look if you've already cleared the bigger Metroidvania names and want something visually distinct.
A note on Steam Deck
Most of what's here leans toward genres that play well on a handheld in short sessions — roguelites and Metroidvanias especially, since runs and rooms are built to be picked up and put down. Stardew Valley is Steam Deck Verified outright; the rest are worth checking the compatibility badge on their store page before buying if portable play is the priority, since Verified status can change as developers patch.
Sale pricing holds steady until July 9, so there's no rush — but for the two all-time lows on this list (Blasphemous 2 and DAVE THE DIVER), it's unlikely either drops further any time soon after the event ends.
If indie games aren't what you're after, we've also rounded up the sale's best big-budget deals and the best racing and driving discounts .
