Seekers Alliance: Hero’s Journey demo update adds talents, achievements, challenge cards, counter mechanics, and new factions, with four heroes available.
New demo version brings significant changes
After years of development and presentations around the world, Skvader Entertainment has released a major update to the demo for Seekers Alliance: Hero’s Journey, a deck-building roguelite on Steam. The update expands the demo with Talents, Achievements, Mob Cards, Counter Mechanics, and new Faction and Hero Core cards, with four heroes now available to play.
Counter mechanics and Mob Cards
Each enemy (mob) now possesses its own Mob Cards with unique triggers. By performing specific actions or meeting conditions, enemies activate these powerful cards. Players can try to fulfill counter conditions; successful counters cancel adverse effects and even generate bonuses for the player. In boss encounters, rare Mob cards can appear and turn the tide of battle.
Talent system and meta-progression
The update unlocks Talents, allowing for meta-progression between runs. To unlock them, you need to defeat at least one Elite Mob. Once unlocked, the Talents interface becomes available in the main menu. It is possible to improve the Hero's Attack, Defense, and Speed, or invest points into three Factions — Van der Leck, Galahad, and Mahdia — to obtain faction-specific bonuses.
Hero Core cards and unlockable Factions
Each playable Hero now has Hero Core Cards, which suggest deck strategies and offer three upgrade paths. By defeating Area Bosses, it is possible to recruit support Heroes for the team and obtain Faction Cards. If a companion has a special relationship with the current Hero, unique Combo Cards emerge, expanding synergies between team members.
Better onboarding and game guides
Responding to feedback about the lack of initial guidance, the demo gains a dedicated tutorial map to facilitate learning. Additionally, Quest, Achievement, and Collection systems have been introduced, allowing you to track objectives, measure progress, and choose which Achievements to pursue next. Completing Quests and Achievements unlocks new Heroes, Skill Cards, starting Artifacts, and clues for secret stages.
Words from the creators
“After years of development and presentations at events around the world, we have shaped this demo based on player feedback. We can't wait for fans of deckbuilding and strategy games to dive into it,” said Logan Chou, Executive Producer of Seekers Alliance: Hero’s Journey.

The updated demo is now available on Steam, bringing this set of features to those who are following the title closely.
