Outbound receives Steam Deck Verified status and reveals estimated performance

Outbound arrives on the Steam Deck with the Verified badge and a 30–40 FPS forecast. Understand what this means for the game on the handheld.

Over the past year, Outbound has gained traction among fans of games that combine life on the road with vibrant worlds and plenty of customization, including vehicle upgrades and even space for a dog on board.

Now, the title has received the Steam Deck Verified badge, indicating that Valve has evaluated the game and confirmed that it is playable with the default controller, displays the correct icons, has legible text, and runs with the default graphical settings stably in handheld mode.

Furthermore, developer Square Glade Games released, through a post on the Steam community, the performance forecast for the Deck. The team states that the game should run at around 30–40 FPS, which is consistent with other 3D titles on the platform.

To set expectations, the team itself points out that on gaming PCs, it is possible to reach 60 FPS or more, but the version for the Deck tends to maintain a stable rate between 30 and 40 FPS, which is still considered acceptable for this type of game on the device.

The system requirements appear to be consistent with what the Deck can support: the CPU and GPU are in the upper range, but they do not demand much RAM or storage, which is a positive aspect for those planning to play on the go.

This combination of official verification and transparency regarding performance increases the anticipation for playing Outbound on the Deck when it launches, scheduled for April 23rd.

Outbound can already be added to your wishlist on Steam ahead of the launch, and the community is eagerly awaiting more news, reviews, and tips about the game and the Deck.
