Valve releases Steam Workshop beta update for Steam Deck, featuring a redesigned page, faster filters, and Quick View mode.
A beta update from Valve transforms the Steam Workshop for the Steam Deck, making mod browsing faster, more practical, and mobile-friendly.
What has changed
- Wider layout — the browse page now has more width and larger previews to facilitate quick content reading.
- Faster filters — the page has been rewritten to update instantly when applying search or sorting criteria.
- Section filtering — developers can define which filters apply to specific types of content, such as maps or items.
- New Quick View — by clicking the magnifying glass icon, explore screenshots, favorite, subscribe, or vote without leaving the browse page.
- Better mobile compatibility — the revamp makes the page more responsive for mobile, Steam Deck, and Big Picture.
Performance and experience
The update focuses on speed: filters and sorting options now update the screen without full reloads, making browsing more fluid as you explore thousands of mods.
Furthermore, filtering options have become smarter. Filters can now be adjusted for specific content within Workshops that contain maps or items, helping you find what you are looking for more quickly.
How to access
This feature is currently available only as an opt-in beta. To participate, simply open any Workshop browse page and select the Enter Workshop Beta option.
Ecosystem data
The Steam Workshop is used by more than 3,000 games and has already accumulated over 50 million uploaded items, making every improvement significant for the modding experience.
