Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era arrives in early access with news for strategy fans

Olden Era arrives in early access for PC and Xbox with 6 factions, generated maps, a narrative campaign, and multiplayer. Launch offer available.

Unfrozen Studio has announced that Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era is now available in early access for PC via Steam and Xbox (Game Preview).

This title marks the first entry in the franchise in over a decade, offering a narrative campaign, turn-based tactical battles, multiplayer modes, and much more in this initial access version.

What comes with early access

• Six playable factions: Temple, Dungeon, Schism, Grove, Necropolis, and Hive, each with distinct buildings, units, heroes, and abilities.
• Single-player modes: skirmish, including Classic, Single Hero, Arena, and premade scenarios.
• Generated maps: pre-ready templates for procedurally generated maps, with different victory conditions.
• Narrative campaign: the first act of the story, in addition to a complete tutorial and advanced challenges.
• Online multiplayer: supports Classic, Single Hero, and Arena, with a leaderboard system and local hotseat options.
• Map Editor (beta) and custom lobbies for user-created maps.

During the early access period, the developer plans to release the remainder of the campaign, more scenarios, Spectator mode, improvements to the Map Editor, and adjustments based on community feedback. A complete roadmap will be released soon.

The game is localized into several languages, including German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era costs $39.99 (with a 25% launch discount until May 13, 2026) and is also available via PC Game Pass. Available for PC via Steam and Microsoft Store (Game Preview).
