The PC version of Death Stranding 2 continues to receive improvements that benefit those playing on the Steam Deck. Update 1.5 brings performance optimizations, enhances Steam Input, and facilitates access to Basic Controller mode options.

It is worth noting that version 1.3 already received the Steam Deck Verified badge; with 1.5, the experience seems to solidify that status, amidst major advancements beyond simple graphical load improvements.

• Steam Deck performance: sections that previously saw around 15 FPS have moved to 25–27 FPS, with many areas exceeding 30 FPS.
• Controls and interface: Steam Input support has been improved, and access to Photo Mode has been made clearer in the Basic Controls menu.
• Visual quality: cinematics now feature sharper lighting and facial details.

Despite not offering a stable 30 FPS throughout the entire game, the experience is now considerably smoother, and it is viable to play from start to finish without major concessions.
