Sunyata CCG: Steam demo on May 4th accompanies Deckbuilders Fest

Sunyata CCG gets a public demo on Steam on May 4th, featuring four starting decks, Draft Mode, and PvP duels. Check out what is coming up.

Indie developer Nagarjuna Games has confirmed that the first public demo for Sunyata CCG will arrive on Steam on May 4th, right at the start of Deckbuilders Fest.

The demo offers fast-paced tactical combat, a distinct mana system, and hand-drawn style visuals, including both PvE and PvP modes, with a 'Challenge a Friend' feature.

A new trailer highlights the dynamic turn structure, evolving creatures, and the fantasy setting that surrounds the game.

Starting decks to try out

  • Ice Mage: converts ice mana into Ice Spirit tokens.
  • Dragon Riders: based on explosive burn damage.
  • Trees: focuses on growth and transformation via the Evolution mechanic.
  • Zombies: sacrificing units to summon aggressive undead.

There is also Draft Mode, allowing you to build decks with one or two types of mana among Ice, Fire, Nature, and Food. The full version is expected to expand with Water, Electricity, Steel, and Gold.

Sunyata seeks to position itself by merging familiar ideas with new mechanics, combining elements that resemble Hearthstone and Magic: The Gathering, while introducing repeatable abilities, evolving units, and turns that require more decision-making.

'Each card in Sunyata is a puzzle piece', states the development team, highlighting the focus on unique strategies that players can master over time.

With the demo arriving soon, Sunyata CCG seems to be establishing itself as a title to watch in the deckbuilding space.

Interested? Let us know in the comments which deck you will test first in the Sunyata CCG demo and what you expect from the new mechanics.
