Valve signals official announcement of Steam Machine soon
Valve has reignited the fires of expectation surrounding the Steam Machine, suggesting that official news about the release should arrive soon. After the delay announced at the beginning of the year, little was known about the device, but the agenda for new reports seems to be picking up pace again.
According to information released by IGN, the Valve team stated that the release is near and that the launch window continues to point to the first half of 2026. Although details such as the exact date have not yet been revealed, the tone suggests that the official announcement should not take long.
Regarding its operation, Pierre-Louis Griffais from Valve compared the Steam Machine to the Steam Deck when docked, highlighting that the machine will have much more GPU power while maintaining an essentially similar experience. He reinforced that the hardware is already practically ready, with only polishing features and perfecting some functions left to do.
Along with the Steam Machine, Valve also confirmed the release of a new Steam Controller shortly after, scheduled for May 4th, priced at US$ 99. The Steam Machine is designed to cost over US$ 1,000, placing the product in the high-performance segment. The path now seems set, but final confirmation still depends on the official announcement.
