Steam Deck 2 ganha foco em desempenho, sem data de lançamento anunciada

Steam Deck 2 to focus on performance, with no release date announced

Valve confirms development of the Steam Deck 2 with a focus on performance; other products arrive this year, but the Deck 2 date remains uncertain.

Steam Deck 2: focus on performance and direction for the future

Valve has confirmed that it is working intensely on the Steam Deck 2, with priority given to performance improvements. There is no set release window yet.

In a recent interview, Pierre-Loup Griffais explained that development is underway and may take time. This year, the company is focused on three products simultaneously: the standalone Steam Machine, the Steam Frame VR headset, and the Steam Controller.

It was announced that the Steam Controller will arrive soon for $100; the other two items are expected later this year. The idea of a Steam Deck 2 is particularly exciting, with Griffais highlighting that the lessons learned from current projects should feed into the next Deck.

Griffais also stated that, at the moment, there are no SoC options on the market that represent a clear performance evolution for the Deck; if they can increase power while maintaining battery life — or improving it — the benefit should be visible.

A survey showed that 40% of developers are considering porting games to the Steam Deck, ahead of Android, iOS, and Switch. In addition, Valve has already revealed how the verification program will adapt to new hardware releases, ensuring continuous support for its products.
