Steam Beta brings a battery indicator for wireless gamepads, with improvements in Big Picture and fixes in SteamOS/Deck.
With the new Steam Controller seemingly on the horizon, Valve has released a battery indicator for wireless gamepads in the Steam Beta.
The feature was validated on a PowerA OPS connected via Bluetooth: Steam now displays the battery level. The support did not work when the controller was used via a dongle.
What has changed according to the Steam Client Beta
- General: a low battery notification for wireless gamepads has been added.
- Big Picture Mode: there is now a battery indicator in the header for wireless gamepads; fixes for battery status links in the Quick Access Menu that were not redirecting correctly; improvements to controller settings navigation.
- macOS: fixed soundtrack playback on Macs with Apple Silicon.
SteamOS / Steam Deck
The SteamOS/Deck Beta update received the same update.
