Slay the Spire 2 follows the PC path to consoles

The anticipated Slay the Spire 2 does not yet have a release date for consoles, including Xbox. The sequel was announced during The Game Awards 2024 and opened Early Access on PC on March 5, 2026, with an existing player base already showing enthusiasm.

According to the Steam page, the Early Access period should last between 1 to 2 years, repeating the rhythm of the original title. This makes a debut on Xbox unlikely before 2027, at least.

Multiplatform arrival plan

  • The team points to the path of starting with Early Access on Steam and then officially launching for major consoles and mobile devices.
  • Regarding backward compatibility support, the team indicates that it is likely, depending on reviews with Microsoft and certification issues.

In statements compiled by the community, developer Mega Crit affirmed the intention to bring Slay the Spire 2 to various platforms in the future, keeping PC as the starting point.

According to site estimates, the minimum window for the Xbox launch is 2027, if everything follows the current plan.
