Playnix Console: o mini PC AMD com Linux que parece uma Steam Machine disfarçada de toca-discos

Playnix Console: the AMD Linux mini PC that looks like a Steam Machine disguised as a record player

Mini PC with AMD Ryzen 5 5500, Linux, and RX 9060 XT; see why the Playnix Console is seen as a Steam Machine competitor and whether it's worth the price.

The Playnix Console arrives as an interesting bet in the hybrid landscape between PC and console. Developed by EmuDeck, it looks like a record player (or the Xbox Series S) due to its 3D-printed chassis, but it hides a machine with high-performance hardware.

Underneath this piece is an AMD Ryzen 5 5500 six-core processor at 65W, 512GB SSD, 2x8GB of DDR4-3200 memory, and an RX 9060 XT GPU with 16GB of VRAM. All this in a build that allows for upgrades, making it more of a mini PC than a traditional console.

Cooling is handled by Noctua and Thermalright fans, chosen to keep temperatures under control during long gaming sessions.

The software package is a custom Arch Linux that uses Steam Gaming Mode to connect to your existing Steam library, promising seamless integration between PC and games.

In terms of performance, a YouTube channel tested a previous model and reported around 55–58 average fps in Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K, with High settings and FSR Quality for upscaling.

The Playnix Console is marketed as capable of 4K, although it is necessary to adjust settings to maintain stable frames, and even so, it seems like a plausible alternative to what is expected from a Steam Machine.

Price: US$ 1,139 before shipping.

In short, it is an interesting proposal for those who want the performance of a PC with the convenience of a hybrid console format, without yet depending on official SteamOS.

Would you pay US$ 1,139 for this hybrid or do you prefer to wait for an official Steam Machine? Leave your opinion in the comments.
