Is the Steam Machine coming? Valve receives large shipment of 'Game Consoles' in the US

Valve receives a large stock of supposed 'Game Consoles' at its US warehouses, pointing to the upcoming launch of the Steam Machine with AMD Zen 4 and RDNA 3.

Steam Machine may come to life soon

A well-known insider claims that Valve has been receiving large shipments at its US warehouses, all labeled as Game Consoles. Although there is no official confirmation, the move suggests that the long-awaited console is the target of these deliveries.

Brad Lynch, known for leaking information about Valve, points out that the volume of stock is significant, increasing the chance of an announcement and launch in the coming weeks.

Technical speculations indicate a Steam Machine with:

  • CPU: 6-core AMD Zen 4
  • GPU: RDNA 3 with 28 Compute Units and 8GB of VRAM

The GPU would be capable of performance close to the RX 7600 or RTX 4060, but adjusted for SteamOS and TV use, aiming for an entry-level option for couch gaming.

In the current context of memory and storage, prices may fluctuate, but the general perception is that a launch is imminent, with a positioning strategy that attracts the accessible PC gaming audience.

This trend of mass shipments is not rare: it was previously observed before the launch of the Steam Controller, reinforcing the idea that important news may be announced soon.
