Square Enix confirmed the removal of the Denuvo anti-tamper from the Dragon Quest 1&2 HD-2D Remake, which is reflected in the patch that also reduced the game's size on Steam.
This removal was confirmed by SteamDB, with the update appearing on the store page after the patch, which could improve already solid performance, especially on devices like the Steam Deck.

In addition to removing the DRM, the update brings fixes for several bugs. Among them, an issue that prevented players from claiming bonus save items if they had played Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake, something specific to the Steam Deck.
