Steam Machine pode estar a caminho? Sinais de lançamento surgem após remessas de consoles

Could a Steam Machine be on the way? Launch signs emerge following console shipments

Signs point to a possible Steam Machine launch: console shipments from China, the context of RAM memory, and Valve's stance.

Update from May 5, 2026: so far there has been no official announcement from Valve, but signs of interest have accelerated on the rumor radar.

This week, Valve released the Steam Controller on its own, breaking the original schedule that predicted a launch alongside the Steam Machine and the Steam Frame. At the same time, reports are circulating about shipments of alleged game consoles coming from China to US warehouses, according to data from the shipping analysis platform NBD Data.

Brad Lynch, known on Twitter as @SadlyItsBradley, noted the increase in these shipments, suggesting that Valve may be preparing for something soon.

It is possible that these shipments represent only a major repositioning of the Steam Deck — which currently has reduced inventory — but, as Valve has not signaled plans for a new handheld anytime soon, many point to the Steam Machine as the most likely explanation for the signs.

Still, there is no official confirmation. Reading reports on the subject suggests that the scale of these shipments implies planning, but only an announcement from Valve will be able to seal the idea.

Historically, the delay of the Steam Machine was linked to high RAM memory prices. Today, a 16 GB RAM memory can cost around $250, which could delay a launch window. If Valve is preparing to ship the Steam Machine, it remains to be seen whether there was an agreement to obtain memory at a good price or whether the launch will come at a higher cost.

Valve engineer Pierre-Loup Griffais stated that the company seeks to keep options open and work with various manufacturers, a strategy that helps deal with the current memory supply scenario. The idea is to maintain diversity of options to face high prices and supplier volatility.

There is still no official confirmation, so we will follow Valve's next steps to confirm if the Steam Machine is actually on the way.
