Cleared Hot, the nostalgic helicopter shooter, gained native Linux support along with a performance update that promises superior fluidity across various platforms, with a special focus on the Steam Deck.
The improvements were designed to enhance the overall experience, and on the Steam Deck, slower action segments can now reach up to 90 FPS, in addition to significantly reducing stuttering.
Arcade Mode and Additional Content
The biggest new feature is Arcade Mode, which adds replayable content and has already received expansion plans. Check out the options included so far:
- Survival Mode — Defend a building against waves of enemies
- Skee Ball — Use your rope to roll the ball up the ramp and into the holes
- Skeet Shooting — Shoot at barrels in the air
- Cooping Mechanism — A timed chicken rescue
- Mini Golf — Golf, but with missiles
- Uno Reverse — Destroy towers by deflecting your own missiles
- Glass Cannon — Use walls as protection and destroy three challenging towers
The update also reinforces compatibility with Linux platforms via Proton/Wine, aiming for greater performance and stability beyond the Steam Deck.
