Proton Experimental gets Proton 11 changes

A new Proton Experimental update was released yesterday, incorporating all known changes from Proton 11 in its first beta version and updating key components, including FEX for ARM.

Among the highlights, there is also a fix for They Are Billions, which suffered from low FPS during the opening cinematic.

What changed in this update

  • All changes from Proton 11.0-beta1 have been included in the current version.
  • Proton 11 regression fix: They Are Billions should no longer suffer from low FPS in the opening cinematic.
  • Component updates: vkd3d-proton, dxvk, vkd3d, dxvk-nvapi, and FEX updated to the latest development versions.

The update should download automatically if you already have the experimental layer installed. Otherwise, search for Proton Experimental in the Steam store on your Steam Deck and install it.
