Steam Workshop recebe redesign que acelera a navegação e melhora a experiência no mobile

Steam Workshop gets a redesign that speeds up navigation and improves the mobile experience

Steam Workshop update brings a wider page, faster filters, and quick view, with a focus on mobile and Steam Deck.

A renovation similar to the one recently applied to the Steam store is coming to the Steam Workshop. The UI update promises faster navigation and better adaptation for mobile devices, including the Steam Deck, making the search for mods and items more fluid.

Valve points out that more than 3,000 games already use the Workshop and that the collection totals more than 50 million submitted items. Millions of players frequently subscribe to, vote on, and interact with content, which motivated profound changes in the user experience.

What changes in the Steam Workshop

Wider page and items with larger previews, allowing you to see more content at once.

  • Faster filtering: the page has been rewritten to update with less lag when applying filters or changing the sorting.
  • Filtering by type: developers can define which filters apply to each type of item, such as maps or items, for more accurate results.
  • Quick view: by clicking on the magnifying glass icon, it is possible to explore screenshots, favorite, subscribe, or vote without leaving the page.
  • Better compatibility: the new implementation prioritizes responsiveness on mobile phones, Steam Deck, and Big Picture mode.

When it arrives and how to test

Valve has informed that the update should remain in beta for a few weeks or months, with bug fixes and adjustments based on user feedback. Those who don't want to wait can actively try out the beta on the Workshop navigation page itself.
