New Steam Deck beta update brings remote download management

Steam Deck beta update adds remote download management, cross-device synchronization, and adjustments to the home page and app details.

A new Steam Deck beta update was released yesterday, bringing a practical feature for those who manage downloads across multiple devices: Remote Download Management.

It is now possible to manage downloads on remote Steam clients directly from the download page. To switch between devices, simply select the desired client by pressing Y.

Additionally, the App Details page now displays the same status and options for both local and remote clients, keeping everything aligned. There were also adjustments made to the new version of the home page.

Steam Deck Beta Updates

  • Downloads: Remote download management is now available from the download page; you can choose between different clients by pressing Y.
  • The App Details page now displays the same statuses and options for remote and local clients.
  • You must update both the local and remote clients to enable the feature.

Store Home Beta

  • Fixed the "..." context menu in the Discounts & Events section.
  • Increased the number of capsules per page in various carousels.
  • Smoothed transitions for the Featured & Recommended carousel.
  • The Recently Updated section now links capsules to their corresponding game announcements.

Steam Input

  • Fixed an issue where radial menus could not be dismissed after releasing the joystick on Steam Deck.

To install, open System Settings on your Steam Deck and ensure the update channel is set to Beta or Preview.
