New feature that simplifies management between devices

The Steam Beta version brings a new feature that makes it easier to manage downloads and updates on different devices, from desktop to Steam Deck and other handhelds, with support for streaming via Remote Play.

With the new option on the downloads page, you can switch between desktop and Steam Deck. In my tests, the feature also works with the Deck's download mode while the screen is off, keeping activities running in the background.

Changelog details

• Downloads: Added Remote Download Management. This allows you to manage downloads on remote Steam clients from the downloads page.
• The App Details page now offers the same options and states for remote clients as the local client.
• Both the local and remote clients must be updated to enable the feature.

• Windows: Updated the CPUID SDK used for CPU temperature in the in-game overlay performance monitor when enabled.

• Store Home Beta: Fixed context menu on Discounts & Events items; increased the number of capsules per page in carousels; smoothed transitions for the Featured and Recommended carousel; updated the Recently Updated section to link to the game announcement.

• Steam Input: Fixed an issue where radial menus would not close after releasing the joystick on Steam Deck.

The same applies to Steam Deck/SteamOS systems.

Observations and improvement path

The author states that Valve continues to show why they deserve your money, by continuously improving the Steam Client and store with features that make sense.

Now, it remains a reminder that the Download All button is still missing, an improvement requested for years, to avoid clicking on each game or dragging items to Up Next. The question remains: what would be the real reason for the reluctance to implement it?
