What's New

A new Proton Experimental update arrived today that fixes issues in several games. The highlight is Killer Inn, which should now be able to launch on the Steam Deck and resolves connection issues with Square Enix accounts, in addition to reducing random crashes.

Additionally, there are adjustments for Monster Hunter Stories 3, Final Fantasy VII, Atelier Yumia, and HELLDIVERS 2, among others. The update also addresses issues with REDLauncher and graphical glitches in titles using recent versions of Wine Mono.

Specific Fixes (Changelog)

• Disabled Xalia for Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, as the launcher now supports controllers natively.
• Fixed graphical glitches in Duck Game with the latest versions of Wine Mono.
• Fixed REDLauncher taking too long to exit (in games like Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3).
• Fixed crash in HELLDIVERS 2 during missions with a high number of enemies.
• Fixed Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & The Envisioned Land crashing when watching tutorial videos.
• Fixed random crashes in Killer Inn.
• Fixed Killer Inn not starting on Steam Decks and on machines with /tmp smaller than 10GB.
• Fixed Killer Inn being unable to connect to the Square Enix account.
• Fixed regressions from experimental-10: DLSS support in Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.

The Proton Experimental update should download automatically if you are already using the experimental branch. Otherwise, search for Proton Experimental in the Steam store on your Steam Deck and download it.
