Valve maintains its plan to launch the Steam Machine, the Steam Frame, and the Steam Controller, even in the face of supply chain challenges caused by AI demand.

Originally, the new components were supposed to arrive early this year, but the launch was postponed to the first half of 2026. Now, Valve states that the hardware will still arrive this year, although the launch window has been adjusted several times.

In the Steam Year in Review for 2025, the company reaffirms that the hardware will arrive in 2026. However, the post note was edited to mention only “this year,” generating confusion among readers.

Even with the apparent inaccuracies, the perception is that Valve continues to invest in these launches, amid competition with the Xbox Project Helix.
