Preço do Steam Deck OLED sobe no Japão, Coreia e Taiwan: entenda o que muda a partir de março

Steam Deck OLED Price Rises in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan: Understand What Changes Starting in March

Steam Deck OLED will have a price increase in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan starting in March; analysis of regional impacts and what to expect

Asian distributors of the Steam Deck, led by Komodo Station, announced price adjustments for the OLED model in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan starting March 6, according to Famitsu.

Komodo attributes the move to rising logistics costs and exchange rate fluctuations that have persisted since the launch of the Steam Deck. The note does not explicitly mention memory shortages but suggests supply chain impacts.

Details by region

  • Japan - 512 GB: ¥84,800→¥99,800 (+¥15,000). 1 TB: ¥99,800→¥114,800 (+¥15,000).
  • South Korea - 512 GB: ₩898,000; 1 TB: ₩1,048,000 (prices starting March 6).
  • Taiwan - 512 GB: NT$18,980; 1 TB: NT$22,480 (starting March 6).
  • Hong Kong - no change expected in the coming week.

Referring to prices in the UK and US markets, the changes do not raise the values significantly above what was already practiced, which points to regional adjustments rather than a global increase.

These changes in Asia indicate mixed signals about what might happen in other markets, reinforcing the idea of regional decisions by region.

What do you think these regional adjustments say about the future of console prices in the West? Leave your opinion in the comments.
